THE GENTLEMAN'S PACKAGE — MORE THAN JUST A HAIRCUT

A haircut should be functional first. You walk in, you sit down, you walk out looking sharper than you came. That's the baseline. But once every few weeks, or before something you care about, the baseline isn't quite enough. That's when the full package makes sense.

The Gentleman's Package at Xin Fade is a haircut, a beard trim and shape-up, a hot towel, and a clean shave on the areas you want it. It's about ninety minutes start to finish. It's the appointment we recommend when someone says they've been travelling for six weeks, or they're getting married, or they just haven't had a proper sit-down moment in longer than they'd like to admit.

What actually happens in the chair

The haircut stays the same precision cut you'd get in any booking. Consultation, clipper work, scissor work on top, neck clean-up, styling. The difference is that we don't rush to the next person afterwards.

After the cut comes the beard work — if you have one. Shaping, trimming, squaring off the jawline or softening it depending on what suits your face, neckline definition, and a straight-razor pass on the edges to make everything sharp.

Then the hot towel. It sounds like a small thing, and it is a small thing, but it's the part that makes the visit feel like something other than an errand. Steam opens up the follicles, softens the skin, and ten seconds of pressure on your face with a warm towel will do more to reset your afternoon than three coffees.

We finish with a straight-razor shave on the areas you want fully clean — usually the cheeks, neck, and any stray hair outside the beard line. Aftershave balm, a splash of cologne if you want it, and a final once-over in the mirror.

When to book it

The short answer is: whenever you feel like treating yourself. There's no wrong time. But the moments we see it booked most often are:

  • Before a wedding or a big event
  • After a long stretch of travel
  • First thing back in Bali after time away
  • At the start of a holiday, so you look put-together for the whole trip
  • Every six weeks or so, just because you can

It's the difference between filling up the tank and giving the car a service. Both are necessary. One just leaves everything running a little smoother.

And no, it's not indulgent

You pay a barber for their time and their skill. The package is just more of both. A haircut done well is an investment in how you carry yourself for the next three weeks. A full package done well is that, plus ninety minutes where you don't have to be anywhere or do anything for anyone.

If you haven't booked one before, the next time you're due for a cut, mention you'd like the full works — or if you want the facial mask, ear care and creambath on top, that is the Xinature Package. We'll block out the time, and you can tell us afterwards whether it was worth it.

We don't think you'll go back.
